Elocity founder Sanjeev Singh: building the intelligence behind the EV transition

“The industry spent a decade solving for the plug. The constraint was never the plug, it was the panel behind it.”

For Sanjeev Singh, Founder and CEO of Elocity Technologies, that insight came from more than two decades working across technology and the energy sector.

Before founding Elocity in Toronto in 2018, Sanjeev spent more than 18 years driving digital transformation across the energy industry and working on projects supporting the global energy transition. As a certified energy auditor and electrical engineer, he developed a deep understanding of a fundamental challenge facing electrification: electrical capacity is finite.

Rather than building another charging company around the charger itself, Sanjeev built Elocity around a different question: How much charging can a building’s existing electrical infrastructure actually support?

That perspective became the foundation of Elocity’s technology. The company combines utility-grade EV charging hardware, OCPP-certified software and intelligent load management to dynamically allocate available electrical capacity across connected vehicles.

The approach has translated into significant market traction. Eight years after its founding, Elocity has deployed more than 8,000 chargers, completed North America’s largest and second-largest multi-unit residential smart charging projects, and expanded its operations to more than 12 countries across four continents.

Sanjeev’s philosophy remains straightforward: “Every amp a building already has is an asset. Our job is to make sure none of it goes unused, and none of it gets exceeded.” It is this perspective (solving the infrastructure constraint rather than simply selling the hardware) that continues to shape Sanjeev’s vision for a smarter, more scalable EV transition.
