Linebird Lands First Fortune 500 Customer and Expands Its Reach

Linebird, the Virginia company whose patented technology helps utility crews maintain live power lines more safely while cutting costs, had a strong quarter across sales, research, and industry engagement.
On the commercial side, Linebird closed its first sale to a Fortune 500 telecom company and delivered a sale and training to Service Electric Company, a subsidiary of Quanta Services. The company also fulfilled its first order to Puerto Rico, extending its footprint beyond the mainland. On the research side, Linebird started a $1.2M SBIR Phase II project and secured a testing facility in California for its NSF deliverables.

Highlights from the recent quarter include:
Fortune 500 validation: A first sale to a Fortune 500 telecom company shows demand for Linebird’s technology beyond electric utilities.
Growing field adoption: The sale and training delivered to Service Electric Company puts Linebird’s systems directly in the hands of line crews at a Quanta Services subsidiary.
New markets: Linebird’s first order to Puerto Rico marks its entry into a new region.
Federal backing: The $1.2M SBIR Phase II project and a new California testing facility for NSF deliverables strengthen Linebird’s research pipeline.
Industry visibility: Linebird exhibited at the IBEW’s 41st convention, showcased at Freefly Fest 2026, had its products featured in three booths at the Commercial UAV Expo in Las Vegas, and presented at the 2026 Virginia Governor’s Summit on Rural Prosperity. The team also reconnected with partners, including Strategic Ventures, and met new ones at NY Climate Week.
