Welcoming Stephen Markscheid as a New Venture Partner

Steve holds the pivotal role of Managing Principal at Aerion Capital, a family office known for its forward-looking investments and strategic contributions. His multifaceted influence extends beyond Aerion Capital, as Steve serves as an independent non-executive director across six publicly listed companies: Fanhua, Inc., Jinko Solar Inc., Kingwisoft Technology Services Ltd., Monterey Capital Acquisition Corporation, and Four Leaf Acquisition Corporation. This diverse portfolio attests to his astute insights and strategic prowess.

Steve is also a trustee emeritus of Princeton-in-Asia, underlining his commitment to nurturing emerging talent and fostering global education initiatives.

From 1998-2006, Steve worked for GE Capital. Under his guidance, GE Capital undertook acquisitions and direct investments that paved the way for impactful transformations across China and the Asia Pacific region. Prior to his tenure at GE, Steve was an integral part of the Boston Consulting Group throughout Asia, contributing to its comprehensive understanding of the region's business landscape.

Steve was a banker for ten years in global financial centers such as London, Chicago, New York, Hong Kong, and Beijing, with JP Morgan Chase, where he further enriched his cross-cultural acumen and financial expertise. Notably, his career commenced with the US-China Business Council in Washington D.C. and Beijing.

He holds a BA in East Asian Studies from Princeton University, an MA in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from Columbia University in 1991, where he earned the honor of being class valedictorian.
